Fearless Birthing

The Essence of Life website, which I write for, has been updated - it's all shiny and new :) Since the update, all the URLs from the old articles have changed, so I updated all the links to EOL in the sidebar - if you scroll down my blog on the right side bar there's full lists of all my articles there.

They also have a new article of mine published, about Birthing without Fear. You can read it Here

And the forums are all upgraded and looking great (functioning better as well), so check it out Here

  1. Great article MF. I wish my sister in law had someone like you around when she had her bub 2 years ago. It was all very unnatural and horrible even though we were all there with her. It was a disaster from the start, they induced her when she did not need it drugged her to the hilt and then had to do an emergency c-section, I was horrified at the whole thing. They gave her an epidural when she was in transition stage?????? Bloody ridiculous. As a result bub and mum did not bond for a while, breast feeding did not happen and the she was put off having another baby. She is now coming around to the idea again, but of course very very scared. Grrrrrr

  2. I'm on my way to the States in just a little bit to be there with my daughter-in-law at the birth of my first grandson! It's all terribly exciting. I am hugely thankful that my son's partner believes in natural childbirth, attachment parenting and all the rest, but they are under a lot of pressure from the people around them to do things differently. The whole system thrives on fear. "You can't do this on your own! You aren't qualified!! You need doctors and professionals for everything!" Eegads.
