The darkest day of the year

Happy Solstice to all! Here, where the world is upside down and we live in the future, it’s the winter solstice – the shortest day of the year. Or the longest night of the year, depending on how you look at it.

We rugged up warm – it’s about as freezing as I can bear it! Only 21°C (69.8F) today! We lit the fire, and we prepared a special feast – fresh fish, prawns, hand-cut potato wedges and a big salad.

Yum!

  1. It is always so funny to read that you are freezing at 21C hihi, here in Holland with 21C everyone is overjoyed walking around in small skirts and suchs.
At what time did the sun go under?
Today is our longest day of the year. At 22:00 the sun will go under, but it will be light til about 22:30/ 22:45.

  2. My body is feeling a bit confused because it seems like it should be the shortest day of the year, but since we're in the US it's staying light until 9:30pm and it seems very strange!
We're off to US nationals in a few days....
