Beach Schooling

We’re now heading into the depths of winter, and it’s FREEZING! Little green faeries weren’t meant to live in this kind of cold. I mean, it’s practically sub-zero! All this week the temperatures have been hovering at a max of around 20oC (68oF)!

Admittedly it’s beautifully sunny, and during the day we’re going around in t-shirts, but honestly; it’s far too cold for any sane person to survive. (Lucky I’m fairly crazy)!

It’s been so miserably cold we went to the beach for home school group last week. While us mamas were all basking in the sun, the kids were playing elastics

And hanging out on the rocks

Brrrr!

  2. Yeah, I was living in The Netherlands 9 years ago. But really, anything under 20C should be illegal. I'm thinking of buying an SUV, just to do my part to speed up global warming :P

  4. You poor little green faerie!! You should have been here this winter. We had (literal) sub-zero temps. Our poor exchange student got frost nip on her feet one day, after I had warned her repeatedly that it was simply too cold to be out. Luckily she didn't lose any toes!

  5. LOL! That's the perfect summer temperature if you ask me ;-). Still, I can imagine the shock when you're not used to it. May your fires burn brightly and warm you from head to toe to wing tip this Winter Solstice day!

  6. You might have problems surviving in New England. LOL, I know I couldn't deal with the heat in your part of the world. I am terrible with anything over 26C.

  7. luckily, it doesn't get scorchingly hot here in summer either. Rarely over 30C - we're blessed to have temps in the mid-20s almost year-round. Yes, I'm spoiled :p

  9. HEY!!! Its not allowed to be cold up there! You are our only hope when we are freezing. We have plans of heading north on a daily basis! The fact that you are wearing tshirts leads me to believe its not quite THAT cold yet! There is hope! Oh dear, just read Selfs bit about Vic. I am heading down there in a couple of weeks. Hope I survive! LOL

  11. self, 12 degrees is illegal up here.
and yes, I am aware that it's not *really* cold, and folk in Sweden would call this summer weather. But really, today was cold. Littletree got about today barefoot and wearing short-shorts and a t-shirt, true, but still - little green faeries call this freezing.
That said, Mrs K, come up! it's really quite balmy. I'm just a wuss (and have a penchant for sarcasm, hyperbole and irony)
